I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and enjoy providing psychotherapy to adults and teenagers. I provide a welcoming, safe and non-judgmental space, inclusive of individual culture, identity and spirituality. In this space, I work collaboratively with clients on the goals they wish to work on. In my experience a meaningful relationship between myself and clients has been key to progress of the therapy.
Often people who come to see me are dealing with something that is challenging for them, and emotionally painful. Some clients will report experiences of being overwhelmed, stuck, confused, or hopeless about a difficult situation in their lives. My role as therapist is to guide and support clients through the challenges they face. I help them access their own wisdom, strengths, and resiliency so they can learn, grow, and achieve their goals. Most importantly, I help my clients understand, connect, and have compassion toward themselves as they heal from past and current emotional pain. Therapeutic support may also take the form of working on their relationships with others, as well as finding solutions to more practical life problems.
I work with people who seek support for a variety of reasons including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relationships, family issues, social challenges, identity, substance use, life balance, life transitions and stressors. I support people with areas such as work, school, change in living situation, immigration, illness and self-care. I have experience working with, and welcome, people of different sexual orientations, gender identities, races, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds including Black, Latinx, Arab-Americans, and Asian-Americans. I also have experience in helping social workers, therapists and first responders.
I utilize a variety of therapies and evidence based treatment approaches such as Internal Family Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, Strength-Based, Person-Centered, and Mindfulness approaches.
I know that finding a therapist can be a daunting task and courageous act. I believe it’s important to find a therapist who is a good fit. I’d be happy to speak with you and answer any questions you may have about my practice.
